BLAKE RIVA

Location: Lake Tahoe, CA Position: Partner

RESPONSIBILITIES

Blake Riva is a Senior Partner in East West Partners Lake Tahoe Projects, responsible for overseeing the Tahoe Development projects and managing financial matters. In addition, Blake was involved with the formation of the Tahoe Mountain Club.

BACKGROUND

Blake has been with the company for 15 years, and was formerly East West Partners’ Chief Financial Officer. He has extensive experience in real estate development, accounting, finance and project management. Blake worked with East West Partners on the Lakemont Project near Seattle, Washington. Prior to joining the company, he served as controller for Lorig Associates, Inc. and began his career in the audit division of Arthur Anderson & Company.

EDUCATION

Blake holds a business degree from the University of Washington and is a Certified Public Accountant.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Blake is currently serving as the President of the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe. He is also involved in the Boys and Girls Club of North Lake Tahoe, the Truckee Chamber of Commerce, and the Urban Land Institute.

PERSONAL

Blake and his wife Juli reside in Incline Village, Nevada with their children Rachel and Nikki.

ED MORGAN

Location: Lake Tahoe, CA Position: Development Controller

RESPONSIBILITIES

Ed manages the financial reporting, accounting and treasury aspects of the Tahoe development companies, management companies, and not-for-profit entities. He is also the project controller for the Gray’s Crossing project and works on budgeting, financing, and development activities.

BACKGROUND

Ed joined the East West Partners family in 1999 to do accounting and financial reporting in the Beaver Creek office and then moved to Tahoe in 2002 to serve as a controller for the new Tahoe projects. Prior to East West Partners, Ed was a resort operations accountant for Cordillera, an auditor for Vail Resorts and an account executive for Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising in New York City. Ed also worked in the hospitality industry at the Sonnenalp Hotel of Vail and the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown, Mass.

EDUCATION

Ed grew up in the Chicago area and received a B.A. in Political Science from Colgate University in 1993. He is currently pursuing an M.B.A. at the University of Nevada.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Ed participates in various volunteer events, mostly related to trail building and watershed protection in his local community.

PERSONAL

Ed enjoys the mountain lifestyle. He is a skier, mountain biker, fly-fisherman and camper.

HAYES PARZYBOK

Location: Lake Tahoe, CA Position: Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

Trailside Townhomes, Highlands Fire Station, Master Planning and Entitlements.

BACKGROUND

Hayes grew up in Aspen/Western Colorado. He lived in Denver for 6 years, and has been in Tahoe since 2005. Before East West, Hayes worked for a multi-family developer in Denver called Greystar Real Estate Partners. At Greystar, he was a project manager for a 28 unit Condo Project in Kansas City and an assistant project manager for a 500 unit, mid-rise apartment community in Broomfield, CO.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Hayes is on the Board of Trustees of his boarding School, Colorado Rocky Mountain School in Carbondale, Colorado.

PERSONAL

Hayes loves spending time outdoors including Snowboarding, Wake Surfing, Diving, and Mountain Biking.

JAMES A. TELLING

Location: Lake Tahoe, CA Position: Partner

RESPONSIBILITIES

Jim Telling is the partner in charge of all developments at The Village at Northstar and the Highlands in Lake Tahoe, and a senior partner of East West Partners. He manages all facets of design, sales & marketing, construction and owner relations.

BACKGROUND

Jim joined East West Partners in 1987 and has worked on numerous development projects in Vail, Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, and Cordillera. Previously, Jim worked for Vail Resorts.

EDUCATION

Jim earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Indiana University. He is a CPA in both Colorado and Indiana.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Jim is a member of the Urban Land Institute. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for three affordable housing projects and is a board member of Ski and Snowboard Club Vail.

PERSONAL

Jim and his wife Patti currently reside in Incline Village, Nevada. His interests include trail running, snowshoeing, telemark skiing, and camping.

JAY LAMBIOTTE

Location: Lake Tahoe, CA Position: Vice President, Finance, Northstar Highlands

RESPONSIBILITIES

Jay serves as Vice President, Finance for Northstar Highlands. He completes financial analysis and handles business relationships for Highlands’ projects including The Ritz-Carlton Highlands, Lake Tahoe.

BACKGROUND

Jay joined East West Partners as a summer intern, and then full time in May of 2004 after graduating from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.

EDUCATION

Jay graduated from Duke University with a BA in History in 1996. He obtained his MBA from the Darden School (University of Virginia) in 2004.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Jay serves on the Advisory Board for Adventure Risk Challenge, an intensive outdoor education literacy program for North Tahoe youth.

PERSONAL

Jay and his wife Anna live in Truckee with their daughter Scout and dog Otis. Jay was once a professional sailboat racer and is an avid golfer, snowboarder, hiker and camper.

KEVIN R. GRAHAM
Location: Lake Tahoe, CA Position: Vice President-Director of Hospitality for East West Resorts-Tahoe

RESPONSIBILITIES

Kevin oversees East West Resorts’ North Lake Tahoe lodging and property management services at Old Greenwood, Gray’s Crossing and Northstar.

BACKGROUND

Kevin has been in the hospitality business for twenty years; eight years with East West Resorts directing its acquisition activities and overseeing the lodging divisions in Big Sky, Montana, and Breckenridge, Colorado. Prior to joining East West, Kevin held various general manager and controller positions in Breckenridge; Vail; Palm Springs, California and Kauai, Hawaii

EDUCATION

A native of Sterling, Colorado, Kevin graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Kevin is a Certified Manager of Community Associations, a member of the California Association of Community Managers and Community Association Institute. Kevin was co-chairman of the hospitality group for the 1999 World Alpine Ski Championships held in Vail and Beaver Creek.

PERSONAL

Kevin and Anocha reside in Reno, Nevada. Kevin’s personal interests include listening to music, travel and enjoying recreational activities such as road cycling, skiing, scuba diving and golf.

KURT KRIEG
Location: Lake Tahoe, CA Position: Project Manager

BACKGROUND

Kurt joined the East West Partners Tahoe development team in 2005 following two years as a Treasuries Hedge Trader on the Chicago Board of Trade.  Prior to his trading venture, Krieg served as Vice President of Sales and Operations for the Vail Valley Foundation.  During his ten-year tenure with the Foundation, Krieg oversaw the renovation of the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater, while also playing key roles in numerous international events.  In addition, he also was contracted to work in Venue Development for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. A graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in Real Estate and Finance, Krieg also attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Focuses are project management in Tahoe; mainly the Northside, Village-at-Northstar and future development projects

Serves on multiple homeowners association board and master development board

Project management allows me to work with equity partners, global hotel brands, banks, brokerages, mortgage partners, contractors, state and local government agencies, resort operators, homeowner associations and community leaders.

LIZA SMITH

Location: Lake Tahoe, CA Position: Director of Finance – Tahoe Mountain Resorts Lodging

RESPONSIBILITIES

Liza is responsible for overseeing all accounting for the short term rental and homecare activities of all wholly owned residences in Northstar and Old Greenwood, as well as the nine associations between Gray’s Crossing, Old Greenwood and the Village at Northstar. She is also responsible for overseeing all Human Resource functions.

BACKGROUND

After one year of public accounting, Liza has worked in the Resort industry for 10 years. She started in the East West Resorts Corporate Office in Edwards as the Financial Analyst for 5 years. Then she tried out beach living in Hilton Head Island, SC working as the Controller for two East West Resorts divisions for 4 years. She missed the mountains and moved to Lake Tahoe as the Director of Finance in 2005.

EDUCATION

Liza received a Bachelor of Science with a major in Accounting from the University of Colorado.

COMMUNITY SERVICE

Liza has been an active member of Hospitality Financial Technology Professionals (HFTP) for 10 years earning the CHAE certification, as well as actively pursuing CACM accreditation. She is striving to have more time to volunteer with animal organizations such as the Humane Society and DreamPower.

PERSONAL

Liza lives in Truckee with husband Dave and 2 black labs, Ice and Chopper. She loves anything that involves being outside in the mountains – running, biking, waterskiing, camping, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, skiing, and traveling.
