It was the year 2000 when Ross Bowker moved to Charleston, South Carolina and developed the One Vendue condominiums. When mentioning that East West Partners was putting roots down in Charleston, people actually asked, “Where is Charleston?” Fast forward to 2010 and it’s changed to, “Charleston is so wonderful, I can’t wait to visit!” Today, we share stories of incredible experiences in one of our country’s greatest small cities.
From the historic ambiance and antique stores to the flavorful food scene and all the exciting outdoor activities, Charleston has something for everyone to embrace. It’s no surprise that Charleston has been repeatedly voted the best city in America, and second best in the world by Conde’ Nast readers.
The Tides in Mt. Pleasant was originally positioned to redefine the Charleston, South Carolina luxury market, but in 2007 the economic downturn halted progress and the project was taken over by the bank. After languishing for five years, East West Partners was brought in to refresh the Tides, sell the remaining 50 units, and develop the vision for the remaining land. Only two years later, we are ecstatic to report our results.
The refresh is complete and living at the Tides is what homeowners had always dreamed of. Thanks to Miller Harper, Mac Triplett and their local teams, all 50 of the remaining units have been sold. Best of all, we have purchased the undeveloped land at the Tides and are launching Tides IV, the first new condominium project the Charleston area has seen in years. The vision has been validated, with 13 of these units now under contract and construction yet to begin.
